Explorer Trailers – Limited Manufacturer’s Warranty
Effective Date: January 18, 2026
1. Warranty Coverage
Explorer Trailers warrants that each new trailer is free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service. This warranty is provided exclusively to the original purchaser and is non-transferable unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
2. Warranty Periods
We stand behind our "no-wood" construction with a tiered warranty structure:
• Chassis & Frame (Structural): Lifetime. Covers the main steel frame and drawbar against structural failure or cracking.
• Body & Enclosure: [3] Years. Covers the composite panels, seals, and assembly integrity against leaks or delamination under normal operating conditions.
• Components & Finish: [1] Year. Covers hardware, hinges, latches, and the exterior powder-coating or paint finish (excluding stone chips or trail rash).
3. Third-Party Components
Certain components integrated into Explorer Trailers are manufactured by third parties (e.g., suspension systems, heaters, and cooktop).
• These items are covered by the original manufacturer’s warranty.
• Explorer Trailers is not responsible for the repair or replacement of these specific items.
4. What is NOT Covered (Exclusions)
This warranty does not cover damage resulting from:
• Abuse or Misuse: Overloading the trailer beyond its GVM (Gross Vehicle Mass) or towing with an incompatible vehicle.
• Off-Road "Extreme" Damage: While some models are built for off-road use, damage caused by collisions with rocks, high-speed impact on washboard roads, or submersion in deep water is considered "wear and tear" or "accident damage" rather than a defect.
• Unauthorized Alterations: Any modifications to the chassis, electrical system, or structural panels performed by a third party without written consent from Explorer Trailers.
• Maintenance Neglect: Failure to perform routine maintenance (e.g., checking wheel nut torque, lubricating hinges, or inspecting seals).
5. How to Make a Claim
To initiate a claim, the owner must:
Step 1. Contact Explorer Trailers immediately upon discovering the defect.
Step 2. Provide the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) and proof of purchase.
Step 3. Submit photos or video evidence of the issue.
Step 4. If required, transport the trailer to our facility in Northern BC or an authorized repair center. Explorer Trailers is not responsible for towing or transport costs associated with warranty claims.
6. Owners Responsibility
It is important that you read and understand all instructions and precautions before operating the recreational vehicle. Even if you are an experienced owner, we encourage you to thoroughly read this Owners Manual. Familiarize yourself with this limited warranty as there are components and appliances that are excluded or warranted separately by their individual manufacturer’s limited warranty. As the owner, you are responsible for regular and proper maintenance as described in the Owner’s Information Warranty Packet. Regular and proper maintenance will help prevent conditions arising from neglect that are not covered by the limited warranty. For example, dulling and fading of exterior paint can be increased by prolonged exposure to extreme sunlight, air pollutants, and excessive moisture. Regular monthly washing and polishing of exterior surfaces is the best insurance against surface deterioration such as fading, yellowing, or chalking. It is your responsibility and obligation to return your vehicle to your dealer for repairs and services.
7. Limitation of Liability
Explorer Trailers’ sole obligation is the repair or replacement of defective parts. We are not liable for incidental or consequential damages, including loss of time, loss of use, towing fees, hotel costs, or any other expenses incurred due to a warranty issue.
8. Reporting Safety Defects
If you believe that your vehicle has an alleged defect that could cause a crash, injury, or death, you should immediately inform Explorer Trailers at: support@explorertrailers.ca and call Transport Canada toll-free at: 1-800-333-0510.
